The SB Nation 2015 MLB Awards Need Your Help

I'm looking for nominations in several categories.

Hall of Famer Walter Johnson holds up an award. Should the SB Nation trophies look like this?

Next week, when the Baseball Writers Association of America announces its award winners, the Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (I'm a member of the latter) will also do so. I'll be posting the results of both votes here.

But also next week, SB Nation will be presenting some ballots for you, the BCB reader, to vote on. In two of the categories, I'll post names for you to vote on Hitter of the Year and Pitcher of the Year -- one single winner for each, not by league.

We are also going to conduct voting on three other categories:

  • Defensive play of the year
  • Bat flip/celebration of the year
  • Best breakage of unwritten rules

For those three, I'm looking for your help. Please make nominations in the comments here -- and if you can link to video (not GIFs, please, MLB.com video) of the play(s) you're nominating, that would be helpful. Please note: For the first two, I'm looking only for Cubs plays. For "breakage of unwritten rules," you can nominate any play from any team. To give you an example of the type of play I'm looking for, here's an obvious defensive play of the year nominee:

I'll go through these and pick the best/most mentioned and then there will be balloting posts as follows:

Mon, Nov. 16: Hitter of the year
Tues, Nov. 17: Pitcher of the year
Weds, Nov. 18: Defensive play of the year
Thurs, Nov. 19: Bat flip / Celebration of the year
Fri, Nov 20: Best Breakage of Unwritten Rules

The winners will be announced the following week.

Thanks for helping out and have fun with this!
