With Saturday being the warmest day in quite some time and with considerable snow melt going on, work ramped up at Wrigley Field. Here's a report from BCB's David Sameshima on his Saturday visit to the ballpark:
I arrived after 3:00 p.m. It was 42 degrees (+36 wind chill). The area was quite busy, especially for a late Saturday afternoon. I happened to arrive just as the top section of the bleacher steel was going up. This is the first section of steel that is actually going to form part of the bleacher seating section. Until now, the steel that had gone up is for the patio area behind center field. They have leveled the gravel that had been piled up in the left-field corner. Concrete trucks were busy in the triangle lot. Concrete trucks were lining up waiting their turn on Waveland Avenue, and. the trucks were still arriving when I left at 4:30 p.m.
We should have one more set of photos here later today, from Monday. David was also planning a visit sometime Tuesday.
