Wrigley Field Construction Update: February 5

New, comments

More steel is going up in the left-field bleachers.

BCB's David Sameshima headed back to Wrigley Field on a bright and sunny Thursday afternoon and filed this report:

The temperature was 17 degrees (+4 wind chill) when I got there, at 3:00 p.m. I am still not feeling well, so I did not have time to keep reshooting on the over the fence photos. Please excuse the composition and exposures on some of these images. For the last photo (photo 22) I had to switch to my compact camera, and shoot this one through a gap in the fence.

David's still a bit under the weather so you'll forgive the somewhat brief report. You can see considerable progress has been made on the steel going up on the Waveland (left-field) side, even from the photos taken Wednesday. This goes along with what many had said early on in the project -- that once the steel started going up, the project would go much more quickly.

David's hoping to make it back to the ballpark sometime Friday afternoon, so we hope to have more photos here tomorrow.
