Cubs vs. Rangers at Surprise Preview, Tuesday 3/31, 3:05 CT

The Cubs go for their fourth straight win today.

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- Two more Cactus League games remain for the Cubs, then they'll play a pair at Chase Field (the second, with minor leaguers) before heading to Chicago for Opening Night.

There are still a couple of roster spots left uncertain, including whether the Cubs will stick with Edwin Jackson at all.

Today, they will head to Surprise for the second time in three days, this time to take on the Texas Rangers. Particulars:

Cubs lineup:

Fowler CF, Soler RF, Rizzo 1B, Castro SS, Castillo C, Olt 3B, Szczur LF, Jokisch P, Alcantara 2B

Rangers lineup:

Martin CF, Smolinski LF, Fielder DH, Chirinos C, Choo RF, Lucas SS, Field 2B, Adams 1B, Rodriguez 3B

Eric Jokisch will go for the Cubs, while Jon Lester throws in a minor-league game back at the complex in Mesa. Also on the Cubs' list today: Francisley Bueno, Drake Britton, Blake Parker, Pedro Strop and Hector Rondon.

Derek Holland pitches for the Rangers. Other Rangers pitchers scheduled: Neftali Feliz, Shawn Tolleson, Jon Edwards and former Cub Kyuji Fujikawa.

Today's game can be seen live on MLB.tv via the Rangers telecast on TXA-21. It's also on cubs.com (audio) with Len Kasper and Mick Gillispie. If you miss the game or want to see it again, it will be rebroadcast on MLB Network at 1 a.m. CT on Wednesday.

MLB.com Gameday

Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.

Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn't usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season -- usually, it will update after each at-bat.

For spring-training games, we'll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 3 p.m. CT and 4:30 p.m. CT. These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page. They will also appear in this StoryStream™. The pitcher box and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
