'Missing Baseball': A Song For Wrigley's Bathroom Waiters

BCB's Danny Rockett shares some photos of Opening Day has and a song written about Sunday night's bathroom waits.

Well, at least not talking about the Cubs loss to the Cardinals in favor of lamenting Wrigley's failure to be ready for Opening Day will take some of the pressure off players. But what fans really needed Opening Night was pressure off of bladders!

It inspired a song, however. I've called it "Missing Baseball." Enjoy while flipping through a few photos I took throughout the first Cubs game of the season! In case you want to sing along, I've posted the lyrics below.

I came out to the ballpark on opening day

To watch the Cubs and the Cardinals play

But construction has taken two bathrooms away.

And now I’m just standing in line.

Well I shouldn’t have purchased that Goose Island beer.

Cause I’d be in the stands instead of waiting here.

I guess I’m gonna have to wait until next year.

Or at least till the 4th of July

There are not enough bathrooms for fans at Wrigley,

Missing baseball cause I had to pee.

Who’s the dummy that thought, they had sufficient troughs.

To accommodate so many fans.

Now I’m writing this song, cause the lines were so long.

Next game I am wearing depends!

I left my terrace seat seven innings ago

I missed two leadoff doubles and an errant throw.

No wonder the slogan this year is let’s go.

Cause I think I’m gonna have to leave

There are not enough bathrooms for fans at Wrigley,

Missing baseball cause I had to pee.

The bottom of the 9th is about to begin.

And I missed the whole game waiting holding it in.

And to make it all worse the Cubbies didn’t win.

How I wish the Cubs had finished up construction

There are not enough bathrooms for fans at Wrigley,

Missing baseball cause I had to pee.
