An honor for two Cubs minor leaguers.

USA Baseball has announced its roster for the Pan Am Games this summer, and of the 24 players named, two will be from the Cubs organization: outfielder Albert Almora and first baseman/DH Dan Vogelbach.

In his first full year at Double-A, Almora is hitting .246/.293/.344 with three home runs in 224 at-bats. Vogelbach, playing in Double-A for the first time in 2015, is hitting .285/.408/.435 with five home runs. He's second in the Southern League with 43 walks.

In addition, South Bend third baseman Jesse Hodges will represent Canada in the Pan Am Games. Hodges, who is 21 and in his third year in the organization, was signed as an undrafted free agent in June 2013. He's hitting .241/.299/.358 with four home runs for the South Bend Cubs in 187 at-bats.

Congratulations to these three Cubs minor leaguers who will represent their country in an international competition. The teams will participate in the Americas Baseball Festival in Cary, North Carolina from July 5-8 and then go to the Pan Am Games, which are being held in Toronto from July 10-19. The USA team will be managed by former Cub, and former big-league manager, Jim Tracy.
