Wrigley Field Construction Update: June 5

Video board panels, staircases and work on "Platform 14" seemed to be most of the project's activity on Friday.

The early-evening sun made for some interesting photography Friday on BCB's David Sameshima's visit to Wrigley Field:

I made another late in the day visit to the ballpark. Work continues on the new staircase being built in the right field corner of the bleachers. Concession stands are now being installed behind the right-field video board. In right-center field, on the north end of the right field porch, what may be the right field elevator shaft is being built.Behind the center field scoreboard, work on "Platform 14" looks like it is beginning. The areas both south, and north, of the center field elevator have been fenced off. Underneath, logos have not yet been installed on the bleacher gates. The area on the Waveland Avenue side of the main bleacher gates certainly looks like ticket windows now.Panels are now being installed to enclose the back of the left field video board. The poles, with ribbons, have now been removed from the advertising sign bases, along the back of the left field bleachers. The testing, with the mockups, must now be over.

They've been able to do quite a bit of work with the Cubs out of town and nice weather most of this week. We'll have more photos here tomorrow.
