I'll just be simple and direct here, since this is a quick turnaround from last night's long, but satisfying win.
The last time the Cubs swept an entire season series of six games or more was in 2008, when they accomplished that feat against the Atlanta Braves.
They have a chance to sweep all seven 2015 games against the Mets with a win this afternoon (and that would make nine consecutive wins overall against the Mets dating back to last year).
Make it so.
Here is a long and detailed discussion and further information on the wacky rundown play in last night's game. Worth reading.
Here are today's particulars.
Cubs lineup:
Castro SS, Rizzo 1B, Montero C, Coghlan LF, Baxter RF, Denorfia CF, Herrera 3B, Arrieta P, Russell 2B

Jake Arrieta seems to be heating up with the weather. His last two starts: 16 innings, seven hits allowed, one run, two walks, 14 strikeouts. On May 12 at Wrigley Field, he threw eight innings against the Mets and allowed three singles, two walks and one run with 10 strikeouts. Another one just like that, please.
The Cubs hit Jacob deGrom pretty well May 11 at Wrigley Field, scoring four runs in five innings. That included home runs from Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant. deGrom had a really good June (1.21 ERA, 0.670 WHIP in five starts). It's time to remind him what May was like against the Cubs.

The 2015 Game Thread procedure has changed a bit. Here's how it will work going forward.
You'll find the game preview posted separately on the front page, two hours before game time (90 minutes for some early day games following night games).
At the same time, a StoryStream™ containing the preview will also post on the front page. The First Pitch Thread and all the overflow threads will be published in that stream, as well as the recap. The recap will also live on the front page as a separate post, and at the time I write the recap I will rename the stream "Cubs vs. (Team) (Day of Week) Game Threads" so you can go back and find every thread related to that particular game.
You will also be able to find the preview, First Pitch Thread, all the overflow threads and recap in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page (you can also find them in this section link). They will also appear in the game's StoryStream™ as noted above.
The First Pitch thread will post at five minutes before game time, then an overflow thread at one hour, two hours and 2:45 after the scheduled game time.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
