Some fun facts about Kyle Schwarber's game last night: There have only been 10 players since WPA has been tracked in which a player posted a WPA above .800 in one of their first 11 games. It's the first time that it's happened since August 3, 2005 when Brad Eldred did it for the Pirates in his eighth career game. It's also the first time that it's ever happened in which a player hit two homers in the process, and it's the first time that it's ever been done by a catcher.
So if you felt like you were watching a little bit of history last night, it's because you were.

Writer's Note: The daily selections of the three Heroes and three Goats are based solely on the top three and bottom three WPA scores for the game. The selections are not based on my subjective opinion.
THE THREE HEROES:
- Superhero - Kyle Schwarber (.860). Even if you use his BB-Ref WPA number of .830, it's the first time that a Cub hitter has had a number that high since the famous June 29, 2007 comeback game against the Brewers where Aramis Ramirez hit the game-ending bomb to win the game 6-5. And I still watch that clip several times a year.
- Hero / Sidekick Tie - Hector Rondon and Jason Motte (.236). Bridged the gap between the Schwarber heroics with a few interesting moments.
THE THREE GOATS:
- Billy Goat - Anthony Rizzo (-.262). It's been quite a while since his last 0-for-6 game; you have to go back to August 22, 2013 to find the last time he pulled off the feat.
- Goat - Pedro Strop (-.178). This is becoming more of a pattern than I'd like to see.
- Kid - Starlin Castro (-.169). The silver lining: At least it wasn't an 0-for-6 night.
Schwarber moves back into fourth on the plus/minus chart in rapid fashion, while Strop and Castro continue their downward slide at the bottom.
