BCB's David Sameshima arrived at Wrigley Field at just about game time. These photos show the crowds arriving, and some of the other pregame activity around the ballpark Friday.
The bleacher project is mostly finished, for this year, at least. There will be some tweaks within the ballpark during the season, and then next offseason more bleacher work will be completed, including in the center-field area and adding some fixed signs (the posts for those already exist in the bleachers) and the left- and right-field light towers, which should make a big difference in the way the field is lit at night.
David and I will continue to chronicle the ongoing work in the ballpark area, as there's still street work to be done (Sheffield is not yet open, Waveland might not open for a while as there are still open trenches for utility work) as well as the work continuing in the triangle lot.
