Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers Preview, Tuesday 8/11, 7:05 CT

The Cubs go for their fifth win in a row tonight.

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

The Cubs just swept the Brewers a couple of weeks ago in Milwaukee. Since then the Brewers took three of four from a pretty bad Padres club, then lost two of three to the Cardinals. The Brew Crew took two of three from the Cubs in Wrigley in May, but that was a very different Cubs team than the one that's on the field now.

And after going 16-36 against the Brewers from 2011-13, the Cubs are 17-12 against them since the beginning of 2014.

Let's keep this roll going, shall we?

Finally, here is your once-a-series reminder about SB Nation's partner daily fantasy game, FanDuel. If you want to participate, here's the link.

Here are today's particulars.

Cubs lineup:

Fowler CF, Schwarber LF, Coghlan 2B, Rizzo 1B, Bryant 3B, Soler RF, Montero C, Haren P, Russell SS

Brewers lineup:

Peterson RF, Davis LF, Lind 1B, Lucroy C, Gennett 2B, Herrera 3B, Segura SS, Schafer CF, Jungmann P

Once again, enjoy the lineup calligraphy of Brewers bench coach Jerry Narron (nice photo of Wrigley, too):

Dan Haren's first start with the Cubs was about what we could have expected; it might have been better except for some sketchy defense behind him. He has not faced the Brewers this year; with all the changes in the Milwaukee lineup that could be an advantage to him. This will be his first start in Wrigley Field since August 20, 2013 when he was with the Nationals, facing a pretty mediocre Cubs lineup. He pitched well that day. Hopefully, more of the same.

The Cubs faced Taylor Jungmann July 31 in Milwaukee and hit him pretty well, seven hits in 5⅔ innings. That is, to date, one of just three starts in Jungmann's 11-start career in which he has failed to go at least six innings. Having seen him before, and recently, ought to help the Cubs, I'd think.

Today's game is on CSN Chicago.

Please visit our SB Nation Brewers site Brew Crew Ball. If you do go there to interact with Brewers fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.

The 2015 Game Thread procedure has changed a bit. Here's how it will work going forward.

You'll find the game preview posted separately on the front page, two hours before game time (90 minutes for some early day games following night games).

At the same time, a StoryStream™ containing the preview will also post on the front page. The First Pitch Thread and all the overflow threads will be published in that stream, as well as the recap. The recap will also live on the front page as a separate post, and at the time I write the recap I will rename the stream "Cubs vs. (Team) (Day of Week) Game Threads" so you can go back and find every thread related to that particular game.

You will also be able to find the preview, First Pitch Thread, all the overflow threads and recap in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page (you can also find them in this section link). They will also appear in the game's StoryStream™ as noted above.

The First Pitch thread will post at five minutes before game time, then an overflow thread at one hour, two hours and 2:45 after the scheduled game time.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
