As has been the case with previous two-game recaps, I won't be including each game's stats here in the interest of keeping the piece a bit shorter. The stats can can be found at the included Fangraphs links for those who are interested.

Writer's Note: The daily selections of the three Heroes and three Goats are based solely on the top three and bottom three WPA scores for the game. The selections are not based on my subjective opinion.
THE THREE HEROES, GAME 154:
- Superhero - Kris Bryant (.110). Did a lot of table-setting, with his double in the fourth leading him to the top spot.
- Hero - Trevor Cahill (.066). Deftly escaped a big bases-loaded jam in the fifth.
- Sidekick - Addison Russell (.051). A very nice day for him, getting on base all three times he went to the plate.
THE THREE GOATS, GAME 154:
- Billy Goat - Jason Hammel (-.199). The first four innings were pretty good. And then there was the fifth inning.
- Goat - Starlin Castro (-.123). Had a couple of chances with Bryant on base but couldn't bring him home.
- Kid - Austin Jackson (-.100). Hit a couple of balls hard but unfortunately was victimized by a couple of nice defensive plays.

THE THREE HEROES, GAME 155: For only the fourth time this season and the first time in 68 games, there's a bump on the Hero podium as Jake Arrieta's .072 hitting is moved out. It's also the second time that Arrieta would have been on the Hero podium this season for his hitting.
- Superhero - Jake Arrieta (.372). I guess we'll just have to settle for him appearing for his awesome pitching. Again. He did allow one hit, though. Slacker.
- Sidekick - Kris Bryant (.088). Got the Cubs on the board with his single in the first.
- Hero - Starlin Castro (.069). Just missed a homer by a matter of inches in the seventh, but the double locked up the third spot for him.
THE THREE GOATS, GAME 155:
- Billy Goat - Jorge Soler (-.113). Lots of chances with runners in scoring position and couldn't make anything of it.
- Goat - Miguel Montero (-.057). How do you go 2-for-4 and still end up on the Goats? You get caught stealing and hit into an inning-ending groundout with the bases loaded.
- Kid - Addison Russell (-.005). Not much to his day; just a run-of-the-mill 1-for-4.
