The 31st annual Cubs Convention will begin at the Sheraton Chicago (pictured above) at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised live on CSN Chicago Plus (the Blackhawks are on the main CSN channel tonight). It will also be streamed online at CSNChicago.com.
The complete list of attendees can be found here and the complete time schedule of sessions can be found here.
As most of you know, I spend winters in Arizona now and so will not be at the Convention. Danny Rockett is going to be there representing BCB and he'll report over the next couple of days from the Sheraton. I'll also post, though that task is a bit more difficult this year because the sessions aren't being streamed as they were in 2015.
I expect this Convention to be perhaps the best-attended in the event's history, given the great year the Cubs had in 2015 and with the expectations for more of the same in 2016. Seeing all the players who provided that terrific year last year, along with the return of Ryne Sandberg to the Cubs family as an "ambassador," should be the highlights of the opening ceremony.
I'm opening this thread because for those of you who can't make it, you can follow along on your TV or online, and figured you'd want to talk about what you see. Sort of like a game thread, only not for a game. (Those aren't too far away, though.) It begins about an hour after the time of this post. Enjoy, and discuss amongst yourselves.
