Wrigley Field Construction Update: December 3

A wedding party, and other activity around the ballpark on Saturday.

BCB's David Sameshima stopped by Wrigley Field on Saturday and found, among other things, a wedding party set up in the middle of Clark Street to take photos with the "WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS" sign on the marquee (photos 49-52).

Now that's a memory that couple and their wedding party will have forever. Cool stuff.

As there had been on other weekends when I'd stopped by the park, there were various independent vendors selling merchandise along Addison and Clark, though the crowd seems to have dwindled from earlier in November.

The rest of this photoset shows the ongoing work on the south face of the park along Addison, now mostly covered by tarps, the work on the Hotel Zachary project across the street from Wrigley, and various other work, even happening on the weekend. With work not being able to start until mid-November, the Cubs are taking advantage of every possible day before the scheduled home opener April 10 (now just 126 days away!) to complete this offseason's work.

We'll have further updates in the days and weeks to come
