BCB's David Sameshima visited Wrigley Field on Sunday. He's been busy, as you know he now has a fulltime job that prevents him from going to the ballpark during the week.
He was only able to send me a portion of the Sunday photoset because, as I'm sure many of you in the Chicago area were this morning, he was busy shoveling snow.
As you can see, shrouds still cover up most of the work. I'm most curious as to what the square concrete thing with the pylons is, outside the bleacher entrance (photos 9 and 10). David has an idea -- check the photo captions.
Work on the broadcast building continues, and there's a lot of material stacked up outside Gate D (photo 11). In general, though, it seems like it was pretty quiet around the park on Sunday.
The Cubs sent out this email update on the project this morning:
Our state-of-the-art Cubs clubhouse, new ticket office and several interior and exterior Wrigley Field improvements remain on schedule to be completed by Opening Day 2016. Construction of the plaza and mixed-use building adjacent to the ballpark, which will house the Cubs' administrative offices and retail space, is progressing well with work continuing throughout the season.
We'll have more photos here later in the week.
