For those of you who have followed me on BCB for a while, you know that I like to write Cubs songs, and lots of 'em! Some of you even help me write them by sponsoring my ongoing album "Cubs Canon"! Well, this coming Sunday, Katie Day, composer of Cubs anthem "By the Lakeside" and I will be giving a Cubs Fan Concert as part of Cubs Podcast Ivy Envy's Spring Training Meetup. (Click to join the Facebook Event)
Here are the details:
Yucca Tap Room 29 W. Southern Avenue Tempe, Arizona Sunday, March 20, 8 p.m. 21+/Admission: Free!
I tweeted 2014 Cubs "backup catcher" John Baker that if he's in town, he should come be the "backup singer" on the song I wrote for him: "The Ballad of John Baker." Who knows? Maybe he'll show!
Either way, this Sunday's show at Yucca Tap Room is a great opportunity to hang out with Cubs bloggers, podcasters and fans. And as a bonus: You get to hear the wonderful music of Katie Day who I watched give an amazing show last fall in Chicago! Check out this video of her performing live on WGN!
So, If you happen to be in the Phoenix area, I'd love to see you at Yucca Tap Room this Sunday! I'll be playing a whole set of Cubs originals and parodies and the beer selection is excellent too! It's gonna be a blast and a half...
I'll even be performing the first song I ever wrote about the Cubs! Check it out!
