SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- Hey, look. The White Sox! Anything happening with them?
Well, yes, of course I know something's going on with the Sox. That controversy is being discussed here.
This post is about today's game. About that, here are the particulars. I'm not going to this game as I dislike Camelback Ranch for a number of reasons, so I'll be watching it on TV with all of you. I'm definitely interested in hearing the Sox new PBP man Jason Benetti.
Cubs lineup:
Fowler CF, Heyward RF, Rizzo 1B, Montero C, Candelario 3B, Almora LF, Negron SS, Alcantara 2B, Hendricks P
White Sox lineup:
Jackson CF, Rollins SS, Abreu 1B, Frazier 3B, Cabrera LF, Garcia RF, Lawrie 2B, Ishikawa DH, Avila C
The Cubs get their first look at former teammate Austin Jackson this afternoon.
Kyle Hendricks starts for the Cubs. Others on the Cubs list today: Travis Wood, Spencer Patton and C.J. Riefenhauser.
John Danks gets the call for the White Sox. The Sox seem, uh, busy with something else, so I don't have any info on any of their other scheduled pitchers for today.
Today's game is on cubs.com with Len Kasper and Mick Gillispie. It will also be on CSN Chicago with Sox announcers Jason Benetti and Steve Stone. CSN, as it did for the game two days ago, will be running Sox features between innings instead of commercials. It's available on MLB.tv (no blackouts) if you have a subscription.
Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.
Please visit our SB Nation White Sox site South Side Sox. If you do go there to interact with White Sox fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.
Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn't usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season -- usually, it will update after each at-bat.
For spring-training games, we'll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 3 p.m. CT and 4:30 p.m. CT.
These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher boxes and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
