Cubs vs. Diamondbacks at Talking Stick Preview, Sunday 3/6, 2:10 CT

The Cubs face the local nine in a game that's sold out.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- Today's starting pitcher, Adam Warren, could give a real boost to the Cubs. He's had some success as a starter with the Yankees (6-6, 3.66 ERA, 1.219 WHIP in 17 starts last year), but he's also a solid bullpen piece. It's even possible he could be one of those old-school guys who could go back and forth between bullpen and rotation without the "stretching out" time that seems so common these days.

Plus, he was part of this awesome Yankees commercial last year:

Here are today's particulars.

Cubs lineup:

Fowler CF, Zobrist 2B, Heyward RF, Russell SS, La Stella 3B, Ross C, Vogelbach DH, Perez LF, Negron 1B

Diamondbacks lineup:

Pollock CF, Segura SS, Goldschmidt 1B, Lamb 3B, O'Brien LF, Brito RF, Owings 2B, Borenstein DH, Gosewisch C

As noted above, Adam Warren gets the start for the Cubs, making his debut in blue pinstripes. Other Cubs on the list to throw today: Rex Brothers, Spencer Patton and C.J. Riefenhauser.

Patrick Corbin will go for Arizona. After that the D'backs will go with (not necessarily in this order) Matt Koch, Randall Delgado, Will Locante, Wesley Wright, Keith Hessler and Matt Stites.

Today's game is on 670 The Score with Len Kasper and Ron Coomer. It's also available on MLB.tv via the D'backs channel Fox Sports Arizona. The game will also be on MLB Network, on a one-hour delay starting at 3 p.m. CT.

MLB.com Gameday

Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.

Please visit our SB Nation Diamondbacks site AZ Snakepit. If you do go there to interact with Diamondbacks fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.

Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn't usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season -- usually, it will update after each at-bat.

For spring-training games, we'll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 3 p.m. CT and 4:30 p.m. CT.

These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher boxes and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
