Cubs Announce 2 Game-Time Changes

National TV, no doubt, has a lot to do with this.

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- While we are still in the middle of tuneups for the regular season, the Cubs have announced changed start times for two regular-season games at Wrigley Field.

Monday, May 30, which is Memorial Day, the Cubs are slated to face the Dodgers at Wrigley. This game shows as a 1:20 start on original schedules. Now, it will begin at 4:05 p.m. CT. Undoubtedly, this is so it can be carried nationally on ESPN. The game will also be shown on WGN locally in Chicago.

As far as I know, this will be the first-ever 4:05 p.m. regular-season start in Wrigley Field history.

Also, the game Sunday, July 31 against the Mariners, originally shown on schedules as a 1:20 p.m. game, is now "TBD." This means that the game is likely under consideration for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball on that date, though games in July won't be scheduled by the Worldwide Leader until closer to game date.

So, if you have plans to go to Wrigley on Memorial Day, you can show up later than you had planned. And keep an eye out here for an official announcement on the July 31 game.
