Cubs vs. Mets at Las Vegas Preview, Friday 4/1, 3:05 CT

Not that it matters, but the Cubs could sweep the Mets today.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- One more game against the Mets in Las Vegas and then the two 2015 NLCS foes won't see each other again until July (when they'll play seven times in a 20-day span).

Not too much else to say about this one, except that unlike Thursday night's contest, we'll actually see rotation starters for both teams. For Jason Hammel, it's his final spring tuneup before his first regular-season start, which should come up a week from today in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.

The weather should be beautiful, sunny with a high around 76.

The Cubs are the "home" team today and so will bat last.

Here are today's particulars.

This is a first, I think. Two hours to game time (the time of this preview) and there's no Cubs lineup available. When they post one, I'll have it on the BCB Twitter feed.

Mets lineup:

Granderson RF, Wright 3B, Cespedes CF, Duda 1B, Walker 2B Conforto LF, Cabrera SS, d'Arnaud C, Matz P

Jason Hammel will start for the Cubs this afternoon.

Steven Matz goes for the Mets.

Today's game is on cubs.com with Mick Gillispie. It will also be televised on WGN-TV in Chicago with Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies, and this broadcast will be available on MLB.tv (no blackouts).

MLB.com Gameday

Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.

Please visit our SB Nation Mets site Amazin' Avenue. If you do go there to interact with Mets fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.

Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn't usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season -- usually, it will update after each at-bat.

For spring-training games, we'll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 3 p.m. CT and 4:30 p.m. CT.

These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher boxes and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
