Wrigley Field Construction Update: April 19

There will be a new addition to Wrigley Field when the Cubs come home next week.

Last year, when the bleachers were completed and re-opened, three posts, stubs really, appeared on the back of the concourse behind my seat in the left-field corner.

It was pretty obvious that those were the bases for a future sign, and this week, a steel frame is being erected on top of those posts.

There's no word yet on who the advertiser will be, but I assume this sign will be in place before the Cubs come home a week from today.

Undoubtedly, there will be partial blockage of views from some rooftop clubs by this sign, even if it's a see-through sign similar to the Budweiser sign that was in the right-field bleachers before the tear-down and reconstruction after the 2014 season.

I hope to have photos of the sign here later in the week after it's completed. Many thanks to my friend Ken Keefer, who lives across the street from the ballpark, for access to the building so I could take photos 8 and 9.
