Wrigley Field Construction Update: April 2

Just a few views from Saturday.

BCB's David Sameshima will be visiting Wrigley Field today (Sunday), but in the interest of getting you some of the latest views of the ballpark, Mike Bojanowski went by on Saturday, and filed this brief report.

The new ticket windows outside the main entrance are nearly done; they are located a bit farther north than the old ones. There is also new ornamental brickwork in front of Gate 10 (the bleacher gate), which might indicates there won't be any more major work planned at that area. There's new fencing and signage along the facade of the ballpark on the west side, and player banners have been placed above Gate D, as they have in previous years.

I know some of you don't care for those player banners; I rather like them, as they promote the team and dress up the park. Once the renovations are complete they might not do this anymore, so enjoy them while they are there.

The ticket windows with the terra cotta above are a nice touch.

We'll have a larger photoset from David, hopefully tomorrow.
