2016 Cubs Opening Day Photos

BCB's Danny Rockett was at the Cubs' road opener Monday night.

What a night for a ball game! Watching the Cubs bring the Angels back down to earth on Opening Day in Anaheim was an experience that could have only been made better, if every Cubs fan reading this right now had been there with us.

But don't fret! Fanatics of our beloved North Siders were well represented throughout Los Angeles Angels Stadium of Anaheim in the County of Orange, California, USA, Planet Earth, Milky Way Galaxy, Universe. Especially after the 7th inning stretch, when Angels fans streamed towards the exits and gave up on their team, who were losing 6-0 with 9 Angel outs to go.

We Cubs fans pre-gamed heartily at Noble Ale Works with my friend Kris (the King of Beers), and BCB poster Pat (puckov) and his lovely wife Kate. I also bumped into Cubs Insider's Evan Altman and Umphreys McGee's keyboardist Joel Cummins. Though the brewery was mostly full of Angels fans, and inexplicably one Cardinals fan, our Cubs fan meetup was a rousing success. The craft, high velocity beer was flowing for half of Angels stadium prices, with twice the flavor and quality! Plus, there's free parking for the game if you're up for a 20-minute walk!

The game? Well, you saw what happened! Jake Arrieta was nearly perfect. The Cubs bats were swinging mightily, and the thousands of Cubs fans in attendance were treated to a 9-0 slaughter of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the County of Orange, California, USA, Planet Earth, Milky Way Galaxy, Universe.

So let's do it again tonight, and enjoy some of the photos I took on an incredible evening!
