Wrigley Field Construction Update: April 5

The marquee will be replaced in its original position later Wednesday.

BCB's David Sameshima stopped by Wrigley Field on his way home from work Tuesday and filed this report:

I stopped on my way home to take some photos and aw more utility work taking place directly in front of Sports Corner. It was then that I noticed the structure in front of Gate D, at Addison and Sheffield. This must be part of the new security setup for this year.Passing the parking lot, between the former 7-Eleven and the former Starbucks on Addison, I noticed equipment in the lot. It took me a moment to realize that this was the advertising sign structure, that stood next to the former Starbucks building. It has been dismantled. The Ron Santo and Billy Williams statues are back in place near Gate D..I took some more photos of the front (Gate F) of the ballpark. The framework was being installed, for the upcoming re-installation of the marquee. I could also see that the ticket windows were rebuilt considerably further north of the original location. The ticket windows start where the second floor windows end. This should help when crowds are lined up outside of Gate F, opening up the area in front of the ballpark.

We hope to have photos of the re-installation of the marquee here sometime tomorrow.
