Writer's Note: The daily selections of the three Heroes and three Goats are based solely on the top three and bottom three WPA scores for the game. The selections are not based on my subjective opinion.

THE THREE HEROES:

• Superhero - Ben Zobrist (.227). I do have to put the fruit basket tag on this Superhero for Zobrist only because his homer was possible as a result of Andrew McCutchen not hanging onto the ball on Anthony Rizzo's sinking liner. Whether or not McCutchen's drop should have been an error is an entirely different story, but it doesn't change the subsequent event one way or the other.
• Hero - Jon Lester (.216).  Once again got himself out of a couple of huge pickles primarily by inducing four swinging strikeouts in the fourth and fifth innings.
• Sidekick - Dexter Fowler (.058).  Set the table a couple of times early in the game.

THE THREE GOATS: There's a bump on the Goat podium as Lester's -.046 hitting is moved out.  It's the fourth time in Lester's six starts that his hitting has caused a bump, three times from the Goats and once from the Heroes.

• Billy Goat - Tommy La Stella (-.069).  I'm telling you... there's something about the two-spot in the order.
• Goat - David Ross (-.041).  But he does get a high-five for picking off Sean Rodriguez at first.
• Kid - Jorge Soler (-.009).  The guy pinch-hits in two separate games in the series and ends up on the Goat podium both times. How's that for tough luck.

RANKINGS THROUGH GAME 26: Lester fights his way back into a tie for second at the top of the chart while La Stella falls to outside of the cellar door.
