Another light schedule as three teams finish their All-Star break.
Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs silenced the Nashville Sounds (Athletics), 3-2.
Strong start today for Jake Buchanan. He got the win after allowing just one run on three hits over six innings. Buchanan did walk four, but he struck out seven.
With Spencer Patton gone, Iowa turned to veteran Joel Peralta to close out the game and he pitched a perfect ninth inning for his first save of the season. Peralta struck out one.
Catcher David Freitas played a hand in two of the three Iowa Runs. He had an RBI single in the second inning and doubled and scored in the fifth. Freitas was 2 for 2 with a walk.
Third baseman Jeimer Candelario was 2 for 4 with a double.

Eugene Emeralds
The Eugene Emeralds jumped all over the Hillsboro Hops (Diamondbacks), 8-1.
Starter Pedro Silverio threw five innings and got the win. He allowed one run on three hits. He walked four and struck out two.
Catcher Tyler Payne went 3 for 4 and scored once. Shortstop Andruw Monasterio was 2 for 5. He tripled in a run and later scored as the Ems tacked on two insurance runs in the ninth inning.
First baseman Jose Paniagua went 2 for 5 with two RBI.
Third baseman Wladimir Galindo was 2 for 4 with one run scored.
