Cubs Announce September 24 Starting Time vs. Cardinals

Another national TV appearance for the North Siders.

You might have missed this announcement, as it occurred during Wednesday’s Cubs game in San Diego.

So I thought I’d post a separate article so you can make note of this game time.

The Saturday, September 24 game at Wrigley Field against the Cardinals was listed as “TBD” on original schedules (and tickets).

Wednesday, the team announced that this game would be an “exclusive national broadcast” on Fox-TV and start at 12:05 p.m. CT. Usually, Fox has several regional games on Saturday afternoons and you can’t see the game outside your region (unless you have Extra Innings or MLB.tv).

But this one will be a national broadcast, so everyone will get to see it.

The Cubs, hopefully, will have clinched the N.L. Central title by then, but the game might still be important for seeding in the N.L. playoffs, plus it could be important for the Cardinals as they try to nail down one of the wild-card spots.

This leaves one “TBD” game on the schedule — the following day, Sunday, September 25, also against the Cardinals. It seems likely ESPN might pick up that game for their final Sunday Night Baseball broadcast of the season, but we probably won’t know that for a couple more weeks.
