Gibson's homer is probably my favorite, but that might be recency bias talking.

Writer's Note: The daily selections of the three Heroes and three Goats are based solely on the top three and bottom three WPA scores for the game. The selections are not based on my subjective opinion.
The Gonzalez Mishap of Game 128: It was a lead that lasted for four pitches... with one out in the bottom of the first, Corey Seager hits Jason Hammel's fourth pitch of the inning just over the wall in center field to tie the game at 1-1. WPA impact: -.115.
THE THREE HEROES:
- Superhero - Rob Zastryzny (.134). Escaped the jam that he inherited in the third with no damage, and then proceeded to have three rather quiet innings of work after that. I'd call that a nice building block.
- Hero - Kris Bryant (.077). The final two spots today were all about the table-setting as Bryant provided a couple of chances for his friends further down in the lineup with a walk and a single...
- Sidekick - Dexter Fowler (.059). ...and Fowler did the same with two walks and a single.
THE THREE GOATS:
- Billy Goat - Jason Hammel (-.276 / -.312). He didn't have much to say about the early hook in this game, but one thing that he said was that he thought that most of the hits that he gave up found a hole (other than the double and the homer). On that part, he's correct; the three hits in the third other than the double were all singles that went through the infield, one in each direction. Not that it's any consolation to him in the end.
- Goat - Javier Baez (-.189). And there were plenty of missed opportunities in this game, including three different chances for Baez with a runner on, one of those times being with a runner on third and one out...
- Kid - Addison Russell (-.178). ...and Russell had three chances of his own, including one with two runners in scoring position that ended in a strikeout looking. Just one of those days.
RANKINGS THROUGH GAME 128: Bryant's quest for even ground continues as he finds himself now within one point of the zero mark on the chart, a mark he hasn't seen since the 11th game of the season.
