2017 American League Championship Series, Game 7: Astros vs. Yankees, Saturday 10/21, 7 p.m. CT

It’s winner-take-all for the right to face the Dodgers in the World Series.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

I had thought, while watching the American League Championship series early on, that this might be a series where the home team won every game. Home teams have been dominant throughout the 2017 postseason, and so far it’s come true in the ALCS.

The Astros actually had a better record on the road than at home this season, but so far they have won all the postseason games played in Houston this year.

This pitching matchup does not seem favorable to the Astros, but I think their offense is good enough to win the game, and the series.

Charlie Morton vs. CC Sabathia

This is a pitching rematch of Game 3, which did not work out well for Charlie Morton. The Yankees pounded him for seven runs in 3⅔ innings, including three-run homers by Todd Frazier and Aaron Judge. Morton did throw much better at home than on the road this year.

CC Sabathia threw six shutout innings in Game 3. He was better on the road than at home during the season.

This would seem to favor the Yankees tonight. But because baseball, I’m going to pick the Astros to win.

Tonight’s game is on FS1. Announcers: Joe Buck, John Smoltz, Tom Verducci and Ken Rosenthal.
