There’s not much I could put here that would tell you anything you don’t already know. If the Astros win, they are World Series champions, just as Sports Illustrated predicted back in June 2014.
If the Dodgers win, we get one more meaningful baseball game before spring 2018.
If we do get a Game 7, that would be two years in a row, three of four, and four of the last seven. Before 2011 there hadn’t been a Game 7 in the World Series since 2002.
Here are today’s particulars.
Justin Verlander vs. Rich Hill
This game is a pitching rematch of Game 2, which was the first of the two insanely crazy games in this World Series.
Justin Verlander has thrown two no-hitters in his career. Rich Hill took a perfect game into the ninth inning and lost his no-hitter in the 10th, earlier this year.
Given all that, this game will probably wind up 13-12 like Game 5.
Or not. It’s been a wacky World Series, and I expect nothing less from Game 6.
Tonight’s game is on Fox-TV. Announcers: Joe Buck, John Smoltz, Tom Verducci and Ken Rosenthal.
(Note: Going forward, I am going to link to the “classic” Gameday here because MLB.com broke the links I used to use to get to their “new” Gameday. If you click on this link, you can then click on “New Gameday” at the bottom of the page to get to the updated version. Note that the “classic” Gameday won’t load until just before game time.)

This is the only thread for today’s game. Enjoy, and discuss amongst yourselves.
