Kris Bryant drove a race car at 111 miles per hour

That’s about as fast as he can hit a baseball out of Wrigley Field.

Recently, Kris Bryant and his wife Jessica visited Austria on their honeymoon.

While he was there, he tried his hand at something quite different from his baseball career — race car driving.

Bryant visited the motorsports mecca known as the Red Bull Ring; this visit was sponsored by Red Bull. He took the wheel of a Nissan 370z on a slick 40-degree day and hit a top speed of 111 miles per hour. For comparison’s sake, the hardest-hit home run Bryant hit in 2017 left the yard at Wrigley last May 18 at 112.8 miles per hour [VIDEO].

KB also went through drift training, getting the car around the curve as sideways as possible. To cap off his day, Bryant rode shotgun in the KTM X-Bow, an ultra-light sports car built for road and race use. In a race circuit simulation, the powerful vehicle reached 125 miles per hour.

“My heart was beating a little fast, but super fun,” said Bryant. “I always wanted to get on the track and see how fast I can go.”

Here’s some video and more photos from KB’s race car day. (Glad he’s safe!)
