Wrigley Field construction update: December 16-17

And the Lakeview Baseball Club has a fun holiday display.

BCB’s Mike Bojanowski visited Wrigley Field over the weekend, sent me the photos above, and filed this report:

These photos were taken the weekend of December 16-17. Which day is which is obvious by the ambience, Saturday was bright sunshine, Sunday overcast.

Construction activity was heavy both days, but, due to the nature and location of the work, little can be seen from the street. Scaffolding comes up and down, the left-field corner has some extensive excavation, something of importance is being laid down.

The Winterland at the Park was well attended, the weather being warm for the season. It appears to be a big success.

And, whoever designed the holiday facade of the Eamus Catuli building deserves a medal of some sort, it's a small stroke of genius, exactly what Bill Murray meant when he admonished us to be "good winners."

Many thanks for all attention.

Regarding the excavation near the Gate K/J area in the left-field corner, the Cubs say that there is “more below grade work going on in the concourse.”

Lastly, Mike sent me this appropriate photo caption for photo 33:

You're a foul one,
Mister Grinch,
You really are a creep.
You made Rizzo shout "Respect me,"
Then on the Coast our bats to sleep,
Mister Grinch -- (dramatic chord),
I wouldn't touch you with a --
One sixty-seven postseason Batting A!
