I’ve done this before at BCB, but not for several years, and recently I’ve again become interested in what part of the world you, the BCB reader, live.
In large part due to several decades’ worth of national TV exposure via WGN-TV beginning in 1978, the Cubs have a national and even worldwide fanbase much larger than you’d likely expect from a team that had a 108-year World Series drought.
I know that we have quite a number of readers here who have never lived in the Chicago area, but became Cubs fans because they were able to watch Cubs baseball on WGN. Having all Cubs home games on WGN in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s hooked a lot of local kids, too, since the games were all in the afternoon and you could watch baseball after school.
This survey is just for my own information and for discussion purposes. Where are you from and how did you come to be a Cubs fan? Please answer the survey question honestly. Choose the place that best describes where you live.
