SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Let’s play two!
We begin the 2017 spring season with split-squad games. The Cubs will host the Athletics at Sloan Park in a game that should sell out. The other half of the Cubs will travel to Scottsdale Stadium to face the Giants in a game that also will likely be a sellout. As of this morning a small number of tickets were available for both games.
And isn't it interesting that the very first opposing batter we will see this year is the guy who almost ruined Game 7 for us -- Rajai Davis.
For reference, here is the updated spring training broadcast schedule (which also resides on the front page). 23 of the 38 spring games will be televised. 10 of those are with Len & JD on WGN-TV or CSN Chicago (including today on WGN) and the 13 others are via the Cubs' opponent's TV channel. Those games are available on MLB.tv. All games will have audio, either via cubs.com or 670 The Score. I'll post the broadcast outlets in each day's game preview.

Please visit our SB Nation Giants site McCovey Chronicles and Athletics site Athletics Nation. If you do go there to interact with Giants or A’s fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.
Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn't usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season -- usually, it will update after each at-bat.
For spring-training games, we'll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 2 p.m. CT and 3:30 p.m. CT.
These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher boxes and regular-season stats will return on Opening Night.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
