Who’s Your Favorite 2017 Cubs Player?

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — I did a poll like this last September as the 2016 Cubs were on their way to a World Series title.

The cast of characters hasn’t changed much, but I wanted to find out how you feel about our favorite team as we’re approaching the 2017 season.

This poll has players I expect to be on the 25-man roster. I’ve added a couple of guys who might make the Opening Night roster about whom there’s still a bit of uncertainty.

My favorite hasn’t changed. Though guys like Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant and Jake Arrieta will likely lead this poll, I’m still partial to Kyle Hendricks. I love the way he carves up big-league hitters with the changeup they know is coming, but they still can’t hit it. He never says much, preferring to speak with his pitching.
