ST. LOUIS — Wednesday’s Cubs/Cardinals game, rained out in St. Louis (and as I’m still there, I can tell you it’s pouring as I write this) was supposed to be carried on WGN-TV, channel 9’s first telecast of 2017.
WGN-TV has the White Sox and Tigers scheduled for Thursday, when the Cubs are making up this rainout. So, CSN Chicago will be carrying the game Thursday, live at 12:45 p.m. CT, as forecast by at least one BCB reader earlier today. (The Sox and Tigers are at risk of a postponement Thursday with this awful weather forecast in Chicago.)
In order to maintain the number of games contracted for, CSN and WGN made a swap. The game Wednesday, April 19 at 1:20 p.m. at Wrigley Field between the Cubs and Brewers, shown on original schedules as a CSN game, will now be carried on WGN.
Wednesday’s postponed Cubs/Cardinals game was also supposed to be carried on MLB Network (outside the Chicago and St. Louis markets). As of the time of this post MLBN’s schedule shows Pirates/Red Sox or Royals/Twins being carried Thursday. If that changes I’ll update this post.
UPDATE! Cubs/Cardinals will be carried on MLB Network Thursday (outside the Chicago and St. Louis markets).
