Friday, the Cubs released five videos that show the 2016-17 progress on the Wrigley Field restoration project. I present all five to you here!
First, Carl Rice, Cubs VP of Wrigley Restoration and Expansion, discusses the project overall, with some cool timelapse video.
Next up, a view of the bullpen relocation.
One of the features of the new bullpens is the ability for fans in the bleachers to watch pitchers warming up. That’s cool, but I have to say I’ll miss being able to see the bullpens on the field.
Here’s a view of the new seating in the bullpen and club box area. 700 of them are padded!
Here are some of the new things you’ll see on the Wrigley Field concourse this year, including the new west gate where you can enter the park off the Park at Wrigley.
Lastly, here’s a look at the space that will become the American Airlines 1914 Club next year.
The Cubs’ timeline for construction got pushed back this winter for the best possible reason — winning the World Series. Even though some of the construction won’t be done until June (some of the concession stands mentioned), the ballpark still looks great.
Can’t wait till Monday!
