Fortunately, today's weather forecast is rain-free. We might even see some sunshine at Wrigley Field.

And Jason Heyward returns to the Cubs' lineup.

Here are today’s particulars.

Cubs lineup:

Zobrist 2B, Schwarber LF, Bryant 3B, Rizzo 1B, Happ CF, Heyward RF, Contreras C, Russell SS, Arrieta P

Brewers lineup:

Villar 2B, Thames 1B, Braun LF, Shaw 3B, Perez RF, Bandy C, Broxton CF, Arcia SS, Anderson P

Jake Arrieta vs. Chase Anderson

This was supposed to be the pitching matchup Saturday, but both teams simply pushed back their starters till today.

Jake Arrieta's last four starts have been bad, there's no sugarcoating it: 7.64 ERA, 2.000 WHIP, three home runs allowed in 20 innings.

He did have a good outing against the Brewers April 9 at Miller Park -- seven innings, three hits, three runs, 10 strikeouts. We can hope for a repeat of that. Jake really has to get back on track.

The Cubs hit Chase Anderson pretty well April 17 at Wrigley Field, though the Brewers wound up winning the game. As for Arrieta, Anderson's last four starts have been bad: 6.10 ERA, 1.742 WHIP. We have to hope that the Cubs bats, which woke up during the Reds series, can take advantage of this.

Today's game is on WGN. The game is also on MLB Network (outside the Chicago and Milwaukee markets).

SB Nation game preview

Please visit our SB Nation Brewers site Brew Crew Ball. If you do go there to interact with Brewers fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.

The 2017 Game Thread procedure will be the same as the one used during 2016. Here's how it works.

You'll find the game preview posted separately on the front page, two hours before game time (90 minutes for some early day games following night games).

At the same time, a StoryStream containing the preview will also post on the front page. The First Pitch Thread and all the overflow threads will be published in that stream, as well as the recap. The recap will also live on the front page as a separate post, and at the time I write the recap I will rename the stream "Cubs vs. (Team) (Day of Week) Game Threads" so you can go back and find every thread related to that particular game.

You will also be able to find the preview, First Pitch Thread, all the overflow threads and recap in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page (you can also find them in this section link). They will also appear in the game's StoryStream as noted above.

The First Pitch thread will post at five minutes before game time, then an overflow thread at one hour, two hours and 2:45 after the scheduled game time.
