Cubs Roster Move: Zac Rosscup Back To Iowa

The bullpen revolving door swings again.

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

Once again, the Cubs have made a pregame roster move:

Zac Rosscup faced two hitters Monday night and retired both of them, though it took a slick play by Anthony Rizzo for the second out. It was his first big league appearance since 2015.

Felix Pena made two appearances earlier this month, one against the Yankees, one against the Rockies. He's got a good arm and has a chance to stick around as the Cubs continue to seek someone to solidify that final spot in the pen.

Or, if the starters could consistently start going six innings or more and keep the pen from getting overworked, maybe the Cubs could cut back to seven relievers and bring up an extra bench player, maybe have Tommy La Stella return.

Word is that the Cubs will do everything they can to get tonight's game in, and at the moment it's not raining around Wrigley. Keep your fingers crossed.
