Felix Pena threw twice in the Dodgers series for a total of three scoreless innings, with three walks and five strikeouts.
His reward: A trip back to Triple-A Iowa!

Justin Grimm made six appearances for Iowa after being sent down about two and a half weeks ago. Five of them were scoreless; in the other, he allowed a double, a walk, a run-scoring single and a three-run homer.
Let’s hope there aren’t any of those from Grimm, who at times has been effective in the major leagues. His biggest issue has been throwing strikes. He’s walked eight in 14⅓ big-league innings this year, a 5.0 BB/9 rate, which isn’t good. He also allowed six home runs in those innings, which explains why many of the photos I came across while looking for one for this article were of the “head down after opponent hits home run” variety.
The Cubs have shuttled Grimm, Pena, Dylan Floro, Zac Rosscup, Pierce Johnson and Rob Zastryzny through the last spot in the bullpen, in part to get a fresh body available, and in part to see if someone, anyone, could be effective in that role. No one’s stepped up yet. Perhaps Grimm will.
