Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs were all wet against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals), 5-2.
Starter Williams Perez took the loss after he was touched for five runs on five hits over four innings. Perez walked two and struck out five.
Both Iowa runs came on solo home runs. Right fielder Bijan Rademacher hit his fifth of the season in the second inning. First baseman Chris Dominguez had his tenth home run in the seventh inning. Both players were 1 for 3 with a walk.
Tennessee Smokies
The Tennessee Smokies lost to the Biloxi Shuckers (Brewers), 5-0.
Steve Perakslis started and allowed four runs over four innings. Perakslis surrendered seven hits. He struck out four and didn’t walk anyone.
The Smokies had five hits in this game, all singles.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans were cleaned up against the Carolina Mudcats (Brewers), 8-3. The win snapped the Pelicans five-game losing streak.
Duncan Robinson has pitched well lately and tonight he improved his record to 3-0 over his last five starts. Robinson allowed just one run on three hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out five.
DH Jesse Hodges hit a solo home run to lead off the second inning. Hodges was 1 for 3 with a walk.
First baseman Adonis Paula was a perfect 4 for 4 with a double. Paula had two total RBI and he scored once.
Left fielder Robert Garcia went 2 for 3 with a walk and two stolen bases. Garcia scored twice.

South Bend Cubs
The South Bend Cubs tamed the Dayton Dragons (Reds), 12-4.
Manuel Rondon gave up two runs in the first inning, but the Cubs stormed back with five runs in the bottom of the inning and he got the win. Rondon pitched five innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on four hits. He walked four and struck out five.
South Bend banged out 16 hits tonight. DH Alberto Mineo was 3 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored three runs. Third baseman Andruw Monasterio was 3 for 5 with a double. He had one run batted in and he scored twice.
Left fielder Kevonte Mitchell, right fielder Chris Pieters and catcher Tyler Payne were all 2 for 5 with a double. Mitchell and Payne bothdrove in two runs and scored once. Pieters just had one RBI.
First baseman Austin Upshaw was 2 for 5. He scored three times and had three RBI.
Eugene Emeralds
The Eugene Emeralds topped the Spokane Indians (Rangers), 4-1.
Javier Assad was terrific over five scoreless innings. Assad allowed just three hits and he only walked one while striking out seven.
DH Brandon Hughes was involved in all four Ems runs tonight. He had an RBI bunt single in the first inning and a two-run double in the fourth inning. Hughes was 2 for 4 and he also scored a run in the bottom of the first.
Shortstop Rafael Narea went 2 for 4 and scored once.
