And here’s to a return to the World Series for the Cubs this year.

It’s 2018. Where does the time go?

As we turn the calendar to another year, first, a wish from me to you that your 2018 is everything you hope it will be.

For the Chicago Cubs, of course we hope for another playoff season, the fourth in a row. That would be a first in franchise history. We’ve had a lot of those over the last few years. Feels pretty good, doesn’t it?

The Cubs enter 2018 still in pursuit of another starting pitcher, presumably Yu Darvish. Hopefully that gets settled in the next few days, and they can sign him and introduce him to Cubs fans at the annual Convention, which begins just 11 days from now.

Speaking of countdowns, it’s just 53 days until the first spring training game, February 23 against the Brewers, and 87 days until the Cubs open the regular season March 29 at Miami.

It might be cold where you are today, but baseball isn’t very far away.

Happy New Year! Here’s a larger version of the photo at the top of this post.

The Cubs victories revisited series will resume tomorrow.
