670 The Score is changing Cubs pre- and post-game hosts

This is what serves for baseball news this offseason.

It’s Wednesday, January 10. Pitchers and catchers are going to report to Mesa in about five weeks.

But we are in a baseball news desert. No oasis in sight.

Wait! What’s this? Cubs baseball news!

Former Cubs pregame and postgame host Mark Grote is moving to the Bears beat, and Zach Zaidman, former Bears reporter, is moving to the Cubs booth, the radio station announced Wednesday on Twitter.

I wish I had actual news regarding actual baseball players to report to you. But this will have to do.

The article notes that Grote has been on the Cubs beat since 2015, which is when CBS Radio took over the Cubs contract. Zaidman has been covering the Bears for the last 14 seasons.

As I said: Five weeks to go. Then actual baseball players will actually be working out and we will have baseball player news. Until then, or perhaps sooner if ... I’m dreaming, right?
