The first thing we are going to have to do is get used to calling the Cubs’ cable outlet “NBC Sports Chicago.” This channel was previously known to us as “CSN Chicago,” but they changed branding the day after the 2017 baseball regular season ended.
Anyway, NBCSCH (now that’s a mouthful of an abbreviation) Wednesday announced coverage plans for the first day of the Cubs Convention.
At 5 p.m. CT this Friday there will be a special edition of Sports Talk Live, from the convention, hosted by David Kaplan and Kelly Crull. The network says they’ll have “a panel of Cubs experts and Cubs players” in this run-up to the opening ceremony.
That Opening Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. CT Friday, and the channel says they’ll have live interviews with players and executives during the ceremony.
Then, coverage moves to NBCSCH’s Facebook page, where at 7:30 p.m. CT Friday they’ll carry the “Friday Night with Ryan Dempster” session live.
You can watch the first two via the NBCSCH cable channel, live on your computer at NBC Sports Chicago’s live channel or via the NBC Sports App. Here’s the link to the NBC Sports Chicago Facebook page. or go to Facebook.com/NBCSChicago.
Throughout Convention weekend there will be more information on the channel’s coverage at the NBC Sports Chicago CubsTalk page. If there’s further information on live streams of the Convention, I’ll post it here.
