In an effort to bring you at least some baseball news in the 2018 baseball news desert, I present to you this announcement from ESPN.
Thursday, the network announced it would be carrying four spring-training games this coming March.
One of those will be the Cubs’ final spring tuneup before they begin the regular season, Tuesday, March 27 against the Red Sox at Boston’s spring home, JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers, Florida.
That game will be live on ESPN at 12 noon CT that day.
Here’s the complete ESPN spring broadcast schedule (all times below are Eastern):

The Cubs have not yet released a broadcast schedule for spring training; I assume that will come soon after the convention. Last year every Cubs spring game was available through some form of broadcast (TV, radio or internet stream), with 10 games being televised. I’d guess at least that many will be on TV this spring, with more available through the TV channels of the Cubs opponents.
When I get further information about spring broadcasts, I’ll post it. In the meantime, here’s a bit of baseball news to warm you on this cold winter afternoon.
