2018 National League Championship Series: Dodgers vs. Brewers Game 1, 7 p.m. CT

The NLCS heads to Milwaukee for the first time since 2011.

Had the Cubs won the N.L. Central and then won a division series, they would be hosting Game 1 of the NLCS tonight at Wrigley Field.

The forecast temperature at 7 p.m. tonight in Chicago is 40 degrees (with scattered showers or even snow flurries around), and it will likely be colder in Milwaukee. Which is why the folks at MLB are likely happy that Miller Park has a roof. In fact, of the four LCS teams, only one (the Red Sox) plays in a cold-weather climate in an open-air ballpark.

Thus we’re not likely to have many weather issues with the rest of the postseason this year. On the other hand, I’d be more than happy if I were sitting in 40-degree weather at Wrigley Field for an LCS game tonight. Maybe next year.

Pitching matchup:

Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers) vs. Gio Gonzalez (Brewers)

Game time: 7 p.m. CT. TV: FS1. Announcers: Joe Buck, John Smoltz, Tom Verducci and Ken Rosenthal.
