Here’s an interesting note following the Red Sox win in the ALCS:
With the Astros getting eliminated tonight, MLB has now gone 18 straight seasons without a repeat champion.
— Stats By STATS (@StatsBySTATS) October 19, 2018
That's tied for the longest such streak in the history of the 4 major sports (NBA, 1969-70 to 1986-87).
As for tonight’s game, things are pretty simple. If the Dodgers win, they will repeat as National League champions. No N.L. team has done that since the 1995-96 Braves, so that’s been 22 years.
If the Brewers win, we’ll have Game 7 Saturday.
