This is a slow time of year in the baseball world, and so Thanksgiving gives us an opportunity to reflect on what we’re thankful for, not only baseball-wise but in your own lives.
So this post is here for everyone to post some reflections on anything Thanksgiving-related, but I thought I’d post a few things about the Cubs here.
I’m thankful that the Ricketts family bought the Chicago Cubs nine years ago. They did everything they said they would do at their introductory news conference: Be a good neighbor, preserve Wrigley Field and win the World Series.
There might be uncertainty around some aspects of next year’s team, but we really are living in the second Golden Age of Cubs baseball (the first, I think, was the first decade of the 20th Century).
There’s Chicago Bears football on TV later this morning (11:30 a.m. CT), so if you’re into that, enjoy the game, and enjoy the day with your family and friends. (Feel free to use this thread as a game thread for the football game if you care to discuss.)
Happy Thanksgiving!
