Addison Russell for Starlin Castro

That's all I got. Has anyone else had this idea rattling around in their brain?

On the surface it allows Russell to go home to Miami where he can be around family and rebuild his life and potentially be the local hero for the Marlins. And for the Cubs we get to rescue a former fan favorite and Rizzo BFF from the endless sadness that is the Marlins organization.

He adds depth on both sides of the infield, but mainly can platoon at 2nd with Bote/Zob and give Baez a day off or two. He wouldn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders like the first time around - we have already won the WS and have endless talent around him. He can play loose and have fun.

I have no clue what Castro's current contract looks like - I didn't do any research here and assume other single-A minor league talent or cash considerations would need to be included. But is it really a crazy stupid idea? or borderline smart move for both organizations?

The more I type this.. the more I love this. What do ya'll think?
