Music Thread A-Z (Part 1) A,B,C

I came up with a little something that I thought was fun. You may not think it’s fun... now you funny too (George Thorogood). Tell us 5 of your favorite songs by artists/bands that starts with the letter A. Such as Allman Brothers, Aerosmith, Arcade Fire, etc. You can only list one song per artist. Solo artists are typically categorized by last name first… but iTunes lists them by first name first… unless you actually change the name from Bob Dylan to Dylan, Bob in your catalog. So for this exercise, I’m going with first letter of first name. So, Bob Dylan would be categorized under B. I don’t blame you if you want to go last name first for your list…. just be consistent. "The" doesn’t count for bands that start with "The". "The Doors" would be categorized under D.

Then your 5 favorite songs by artists that begin with B….etc. I’m going to start this as a Part 1…. 5 favorite songs by artists that start with A, then B, then C. If there’s not much reaction to it, then it may be one and done. If it goes over fairly well, then part 2 will be 5 of your favorite songs by bands/artists that start with D, E, and F. This is mainly for your favorite songs more so than your favorite bands. It gives those one hit wonders a chance to make the list. There are some bands/artists that I don’t like too much, but I really like a handful of their songs.

You can give a little explanation of why your song is for you… or you don’t have to… it’s up to you. If you don’t like someone’s artist or song… that’s cool… but please keep your comments to yourself. Different music moves people in different ways. That’s the beauty of music. It’s an ocean of variety.

I’ll start part 1. Someone else can start part 2. Then someone else can start part 3….and so on…. if we get that far. I’m hoping to update this once a week or so… that should get us into spring training by the time it’s done.
